WAYS TO SUPPORT YOUR POSTURAL HEALTH

We use our postural muscles from the time we wake to make that hot morning coffee (or go down to our local café to grab on) till the end our day when we finally take our shoes off and lay on the couch.

So if we use our posture everyday why don’t we take care of it?

Our nervous system, the master controller for our brain, spinal cord and nerves has to work hard everyday to send signals towards those deep layered postural muscles. In order to have those proper signals we need to limit that slouched posture and ensure all muscles around our spine are engaged.

This means

  • Taking regular breaks ( I usually make sure they are hydration breaks this means when it comes to the end of the day your body will thank you for all the breaks but also all the water you’ve had)

  • Remember to stretch neck muscles with gentle movements

  • Having the computer and desk adjusted to your posture especially after your adjustment

  • Ensure to consciously pay attention on how your body feels and look after it
