My Story

Growing up in a family that valued health instilled a curiosity in me to learn more about natural health. As a child I would see my grandparents do their morning Tai Chi sessions with their friends at the local park, and when I’d have breakfast with them they would have crushed garlic and tomatoes every morning. All this sparked a deeper curiosity and understanding into why health mattered so much.

At the age of 15, I completed work experience at a chiropractic clinic. What still resonates with me is the spinal nerve chart. I remember the Chiropractor explaining how each nerve is connected to different organs. To be honest, I was shocked as this was the first I’d heard of how everything was interconnected and intertwined with our nervous system. The body is contagious and so is our nervous system (one aspect affects the other aspect). In other words, if something is occurring in one system it will inevitably affect the other. Still today, when I explain this to my patients, it reminds me of my younger self, 15 years old and mind blown. This was my first step into knowing that I wanted to influence and engaged the nervous system through chiropractic care.

I can’t sit here and tell you I don’t love ice cream or hot chips (I LOVE hot chips) but to me health is listening to your body and making sure there is always a state of  balance.  It is a way of life in order to not only heal your body but mind too. It comes down to having clear connected life experiences by listening to your body’s needs physically, biochemically, and emotionally.
